A specialty window is any unit built to a shape beyond the standard rectangle. Where a wall calls for an arched top or a sloped rake, a specialty window follows that line exactly — turning an architectural feature into a source of light.
Reliable specialty windows are fixed units built on the same Reliable 5700 platform and all-welded construction as our Single Hung and Picture windows. They are made to order from your measurements, so the shape, size, and glass package are matched to each opening. Because every project is different, specialty windows are quoted individually rather than from a stock size chart.
Specialty shapes are most often used as accent and transom pieces — set above a Single Hung or Slider, capping an entryway, or following the slope of a vaulted ceiling. They pair naturally with our operating windows in a single mulled assembly so the whole opening reads as one cohesive unit.

Half-Round
A full semicircle. The classic transom above a window or door.
Quarter-Round
A quarter circle — ideal where a roofline meets a wall.
Eyebrow Arch
A shallow segment arc — a soft, low curve for transoms.
Radius Top (Arch)
A full window with an arched head — a single unit, no transom seam.
Trapezoid / Rake
One sloped edge — built to follow a cathedral or shed ceiling.
Mulled assemblies — shape over function
A specialty shape on top, operating windows below, joined into one factory-mulled unit. The most popular way to bring a custom shape into a working window opening.
Arch over Single Hung
A half-round or radius top set above an operating Single Hung — the look in many traditional Houston homes.
Arch over Slider
A wide half-round capping a horizontal Slider — light up high, easy operation below.
Picture with Single Hungs
A fixed Picture window centered between two operating units — a popular living-room wall.

How specialty windows are quoted
Specialty windows are not stock items — each one is built to the shape and dimensions a specific opening requires. The simplest way to get a price is to send us the measurements and a quick sketch, or a photo of the opening. For arches and curved tops, we will confirm the radius or rise so the shape comes out exactly right.
Because specialty windows are made to the exact size and glass package each project requires, precise thermal and structural ratings are confirmed per configuration. As fixed windows built on the same Reliable 5700 platform as our operating windows, performance meets or exceeds that of a comparable operating unit.
